God Gives Freedom to His People

How good it is that God is a God who gives us freedom. Today there are many problems and many bonds, but God can free us from all those bonds and give us freedom. In Him there is spiritual and emotional freedom, and even mental and physical freedom. If you are bound by something, the Lord can set you free today.

Let’s read some verses about the freedom that is in Jesus. Look at John 8:32 and 36, which say, “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” “So if the Son sets you free, you will be truly free.” NIV And for me in v. 32, Christ and his word are the truth that sets us free. In Christ there is freedom, and this is a very great blessing for all.

Another good verse is Acts 10:38, which says, “I am talking about Jesus of Nazareth. God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and power, and he went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, because God was with him.” NIV Healing and freeing all who were oppressed by the devil.

Christ has the power to free you from anything. Nothing is impossible for him. If you need spiritual freedom, you only need to ask for his help. Because he died and rose again, there is power to free you. If it is freedom from some sin, there may be steps you need to take. First, you must ask him for forgiveness, and he will grant it. Look at 1 John 1:9: “If we confess our sins, God, who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” NIV I like that it says that He not only forgive us but also cleanses and frees us. And the other step is to do the things necessary to maintain this freedom. For example, if you are struggling with lust, it is time to stop watching pornography on your screen. Or reading or listening to things that feed the flesh. And perhaps also seek out other spiritual people to help and advise you and to pray for you. And so, it is with any bondage. Christ gives us 100% freedom, but it is up to us, through the Word and the Holy Spirit, to walk in that freedom. The Word of God is a great help in all this because it feeds and strengthens our spirit within. And sometimes when temptations come and we feel weak, it is time to fight against them in the name of Jesus and the Word of God. Practicing James 4:7, “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” NIV

And it is the same with other types of problems and bondages. If you need emotional freedom, Christ is your answer. Perhaps freedom from anxiety or fear or worries. Or from depression or discouragement. He has power for this too. Look for promises in the Bible that relate to your need, and this will help you. And obviously, you need to pray and seek God’s help.

There is help and grace from God to help you overcome all these things. If you are struggling with depression, Nehemiah 8:10 says, “For the joy of the Lord is your strength.” NIV And Psalm 16:11 says, “In your presence there is fullness of joy; KJV

KJV There is joy in the Lord to free you from discouragement. And if you are filled with anxiety or fear, there is peace and strength from the Lord to help and free you from all of this. Isaiah 26:3 says, “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” KJV

There is perfect peace from God for us. How wonderful that our God is a deliverer and sets us free. But almost all of this depends greatly on what we do. God always sets us free, but we also have our part to play. That is, it is up to us to spend a lot of time in the Bible and memorize verses that have to do with our situation, and we must pray and draw near to God every day because our freedom comes from him. And it is up to us to spend a lot of time in church because that is where the word is preached and where the presence of God is manifested, which we all need. I also believe that there is freedom for your body and mind. Without a doubt, God is also a healer. Psalm 103:3, “He forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases;” NIV

If you need freedom from God, He is there to help and set you free. How wonderful that God is a liberator.
