Overcoming Depression

Someone once said that depression is your mind telling your body it is tired. That simple definition says so much! Many of us fight depression because our minds work overtime trying to make sense of this crazy, broken world.

Feeling “World Weary”

Many things make us mentally tired. It can be the loss of a loved one. It might be the disappointment of losing a job or not getting a promotion. Financial problems can cause us to feel down. The number of causes for depression is almost limitless.

When you feel depressed, your world stops working. You can feel stuck, emotionless, and empty. Depression hurts so much! Worst of all, you may believe that no one cares about your feelings.

Finding a Solution

But, there is someone who really cares about you and is willing to help you overcome your depression. His name is Jesus Christ. He is God’s Son. He came to this world with a message, you are loved!

This is a crazy, broken world. That is because mankind has failed. We chose to sin against God. We fell short of His desire for us and now, the only way to find peace and resolve the problems we face in our world is to find His forgiveness and grace.

The Ability to Change

Jesus offers you the ability to change, really change. He can help you overcome the sad feelings of depression and make a whole new start in life. The reason He can do this for you is that He took the price of your sins on His own shoulders and went to the cross in your place.

If you choose, you can experience His forgiveness today. It begins by telling God that you are sorry for the wrong things that you have done.

A simple prayer works great:

“Jesus, I am depressed. I want to exchange my depression for your peace, your love and your joy. I know you died on the cross for me and for the depression I am feeling. Please come into my life and replace my depression with You. Show me why I am depressed and walk me out of depression and into fullness of a life with You. Jesus, I want to exchange my depression for a life with You. Amen!”

If you prayed that prayer, please click the button that says: “Yes, I prayed.” We would love to hear about your story.
