He Forgives our Sins
God loves us very much, and that is why He always has many blessings for His people. In this lesson, we are going to talk about one of the greatest blessings God has for us. The beautiful blessing of forgiveness.
How wonderful that our God is a God who forgives His people. And how wonderful that Christ paid the price for our sins on the cross. He died and shed His own
blood so that we could receive and experience God’s forgiveness. He took the punishment for our sins upon Himself, and that is why we have God’s forgiveness today.
Look at some Bible verses that talk about this. First, Psalm 103:3 says, “He forgives all your sins.” NIV Not some, but all.
And look at what 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” KJV And you know, this was addressed to the church, to Christians who did wrong and needed forgiveness again.
There are two sides to this forgiveness. When we first receive Christ, we also confess our sins and are immediately forgiven and cleansed. And, as Christians, if we sin, we still need to confess it, and we also receive forgiveness again. And how beautiful it is that 1 John 1:9 mentions that He forgives us, but it also says that He cleanses us from all unrighteousness.
What a great blessing forgiveness is. It is the need of every human being. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” NIV, It says we have all sinned and therefore we all need this forgiveness from God. And sin is a serious matter. We need to be forgiven and freed from it. Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” NIV Sin deserves death, but with this forgiveness we are freed from God’s punishment and have eternal life in Christ.
If you have never surrendered your life to Christ and have not received this forgiveness, you must do so today. And if you are already a Christian but have fallen into
sin and found it difficult to overcome, you must also ask God for forgiveness again today, and He will touch you and forgive you again. There is always forgiveness if we confess our sins before Him, and there is also victory and help to overcome this sin or problem.
The important thing for Christians is to repent quickly and leave this sin behind. Because if we continue in this sin or weakness, it is more difficult to overcome it. It is better to ask for forgiveness quickly and get up and move forward, serving the Lord with everything we have.
We have all struggled with temptation and our flesh. And that is why we all need to ask for forgiveness from time to time. And it is worth learning verses about forgiveness. We have already mentioned some. Let’s look at others, Psalm 130:3-4, “If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, who, Lord, could stand? 4 But with you there is forgiveness, and so you are revered.” NIV
Isaiah 43:25, “It is I, I, alone, who for my own sake, will blot out your transgressions, and I will remember your sins no more.” NIV There is so much forgiveness in and from God that He doesn’t even remember our sins. How good our God is, and what a great and wonderful blessing forgiveness is. You don’t have to walk around with guilt. You are forgiven, and He does not remember your sins. It is like the delete button on your computer keyboard. Once you press it, the thing is deleted and gone, and that is how God’s forgiveness works.
If you need His forgiveness today, don’t wait any longer. He is ready to listen to you and forgive you right now. Without a doubt, there is forgiveness and freedom for your life today.
