Hear From the Prophets

The lessons of this course record the life-changing experiences of eight of God’s prophets. Careful study of this course and obedience to the words of the prophets will help you know how to submit to God.

You Can Be Sure of Your Relationship With God

At the beginning of this lesson you read these words: You can be absolutely sure of your relationship with God. That statement is true, because God has not changed. He is interested in man, the greatest of all creation, and God wishes all men to have a relationship with Him as Abraham did. Abraham enjoyed friendship with God for two reasons.

  1. Because God cares for the people He created, and it is His will to have communication with them.
  2. Because Abraham recognized the need to follow God in complete faith, submission, and love.

You may feel discouraged about conditions around you. You may feel uncertain and anxious. Perhaps you feel much as Abraham did when he first heard the call of God. You are part of God’s creation just as Abraham was. God wants to guide you into a new life of faith. There are two practical steps you can take now. First, you can pray sincerely. You can ask God to direct your heart and mind into His truth. Then, you can continue to study the lives and teaching of great men of God. The next lesson in this series is JOSEPH-HE ACTED IN LOVE. In it you will learn more about how to receive guidance for your life.

For You To Do

  1. Read this prayer.

PRAYER

O God, full of Mercy and Compassion, Lord of the Universe, and Lord of the Soul. Praise be unto Your name forever; for it is in Your name that I humbly come to You in prayer. As You called the prophet Abraham, may You be pleased to call me also into Your submission. I surrender my life to You and ask that You be my Companion and Protector, for You know what is best for my soul. Guide me in the way of truth and life, that I might experience a deeper relationship with You. Set my feet on a pilgrimage that will lead me into a greater awareness of Your concern for my personal life.
