1. What’s the latest thing you have added into your life recently? (ie a new hobby, work assignment, friend, etc) How are you feeling about it? Busier? Costlier? Share with the group.
2. Is believing and following Jesus another thing to be added one’s life? Or it should become the only thing in life? Please explain.
3. If following Jesus is the only thing in our lives, then what should happen to the other many things already in our lives?
4. With this in mind, what do you think it means to be a disciple? What does it mean to submit to the Lordship of Jesus Christ?
5. Read Luke 9:23-27. What does it look like to deny ourselves and follow Jesus? What motivates us to deny ourselves?
6. Read Galatians 2:20. What motivates Paul? How can the same thing motivates you? How does it look like in reality?
7. “Those who live for themselves never get what they desire and in fact end up with nothing. Those who live for Jesus rather than live for themselves do find what they desire.” What does this mean to you? How does this reflect the concept taught in Matthew 6:33?
8. Have you ever felt like you have lost yourself to what you’ve become involved in?
9. If Jesus is not simply something or another thing to the many things in your life, then He will add all the things that you need in life. What are the things in your life right now that you must address in order to make this truth a daily reality?
