The Lies That Make Us Feel Insignificant

Author: The Journey Online Team

My friend, maybe you can find many things in common with the story of Avery’s life. Life often can lead us down a very difficult road where we feel unloved, and rejected by others. Maybe you too were bullied by those who wanted to take advantage of you.

All of us to some degree, and in various ways have been sinned against. Some have been treated very cruelly. Concerning some people, you could say that what happened to them should never have happened to any human being. Let me assure you that God understands, and has compassion on you. He loves you with an everlasting love. God through His love wants to work to bless and restore your life.

OUR SIGNIFICANCE THROUGH FOLLOWING CHRIST

One day, as we trust Jesus, the Bible promises that God will wipe away every tear and sorrow from our lives. We who follow Jesus will enter God’s eternal Kingdom where we will experience the love and peace of God forever. But this hope of a blessed future begins when we put our trust in Jesus. The problem we face is that we not only have been sinned against, but we have sinned against others. Often in response, we sin against those who are sinning against us. We sin and the Bible says that become slaves of sin.

Jesus came to save sinners. The Bible says that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. He became a sacrifice for our sins, taking upon himself the sins of the world. He died and was buried and three days later He arose from the dead. When we put our trust in Jesus, and His sacrifice for our sins we are saved. We believe that God raised Him from the dead, and we are set free to live for Him.

The Bible says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17) We find significance in following Jesus according to God’s Word. Our souls are satisfied in knowing our Maker and our God. Jesus becomes our closest friend and is always near in our time of trouble.

The Bible says, “The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble” (Psalm 9:9). Our lives become significant in following Jesus and in honoring God with our lives. As we walk with Jesus, and trust in God’s Word (the Bible), God changes us deep within, and we daily become more and more like our Savior. This is God’s will for us. We find meaning in surrendering to God’s free grace, and in allowing Him to transform us. It becomes our life’s goal to honor God in everything.
