Triple Faith

Author: Dave Arnold

In 1983, Ed Woodyard decided where he wanted to spend New Year’s Eve 1999 – at Times Square, New York City. After some discussion with a reservation agent, he booked a room at a hotel which had not yet been built – the Marriot Marquis that would overlook Time’s Square.

Now that is triple faith

– faith that the day will arrive, faith that the hotel will be built, and faith that he will still be around to enjoy the event!1

“Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see, and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses. For by [faith – trust and holy fervor born of faith] the men of old had divine testimony borne to them and obtained a good report” (Hebrews 11:1).

“Faith is not believing God in spite of the evidence. Faith is obeying God in spite of the consequences” (Adrian Rogers).2
