Reliable and Trustworthy

As darkness approached, he decided it was time to head back home. Being familiar with the woods, he was sure he had a proper sense of direction, so he did not bother to use his compass.
After walking for a good while, he decided it might be good to check his compass after all.
To his shock and dismay, his compass indicated he was going in the opposite direction as he intended.
However, since he was confident in his own sense of direction, he decided there must be something wrong with his compass. He was about to discard it in disgust, when he thought,
“My compass has never lied to me yet – maybe I should believe it.”
He did, and found his way home.1
Hebrews 11:11 declares of Sarah,
“She considered [God] Who had given her the promise to be reliable and trustworthy and true to His word.”
“Faith is not belief without proof, but trust without reservation” (Elton Trueblood).2
