He who Climbs a Tree and Hollers

It is good to advertise.

You know there are 26 summits in the state of Colorado that are higher than Pike’s Peak, yet Pike’s Peak advertises… it’s the one we remember. In addition, someone remarked that the man who does not advertise is like the person winking in the dark – he knows what he is doing but nobody else does.¹

Proverbs 10:4, “He who has a slack hand becomes poor, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.”

“A slack hand” speaks of deceit, but also of carelessness.

“The hand of the diligent” suggests one who is ready for aggressive labor, keen, sharp, one who labors fervently. Such a one is blessed.

This principle of success is taught in the New Testament.

James wrote, “Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.”

“He who has a thing to sell

and goes and whispers in a well,

is not so apt to get the dollars

as he who climbs a tree and hollers.”²
