Greater, Revolutionary, and Unbelievable

Author: Dave Arnold

A man (some believe it was Winston Churchill) was once asked to name the 10 most important people in the history of the world, as to his opinion. His list was impressive.

When he finished, he was asked why he had not named Jesus Christ.

“Oh,” he said, “because He doesn’t belong on that list. You see, Jesus Christ is incomparable.”1

“He is the head…the beginning, the first… so that in every respect, at every view, in everything—He is first” (Colossians 1:18).

Dr. Charles Malik (1906 – 1987) was one of the most honored men of his time. He held 50 honorary degrees from prestigious universities of the world, a great philosopher, scholar, and statesman. He stated,

“The greatest revolutionary ever was Jesus Christ Himself. Not His ideas, not His teachings, not His moral principles, but He Himself. For nothing is greater, more revolutionary, and more unbelievable than the gospel of the crucified, resurrected, and glorified God, who is to come again to judge the living and the dead.”
