Connecting Our Weakness to God’s Strength

Author: Dave Arnold

A godly woman told this story about herself:

“Once, during my husband’s absence, a crisis arose. I needed to act quickly, but I was utterly helpless. Finally, I prayed, ‘Lord, this is impossible for me. You’ll have to take over completely. I can’t even help You!’” She conveyed that God then did the impossible when she admitted her helplessness.1

“Against all odds, Abraham’s hope grew…his faith did not fail, although he was well aware that his impotent body, after nearly 100 years, was as good as dead and that Sarah’s womb, too, was dead. In spite of all this, his faith in God’s promise did not falter. In fact, his faith grew as he gave glory to God because he was supremely confident that God could deliver on His promise” (Romans 4:18 – 20).

“Faith is the link that connects our weakness to God’s strength.”2

When we depend on ourselves, people can see what we can do. When we depend on God, people see what He can do!
