Sermon on the Mount – Episode 21: The Wise and Foolish Builders

Welcome to Network211’s JourneyTalks.

We want to help you discover and grow in your journey with God. We will engage the Bible so that you will understand better what it teaches and also so that you can apply it to your life each day.

We continue in our series, “The Sermon on the Mount” with Episode 21: The Wise and Foolish Builders. This is found in Matthew 7:24-27.

Your host is Dr. Mark Flattery. He serves as President of Network211. Mark is a career missionary who has served in ministry all of his adult life. He is the author of “Stand Firm: What to Do When Life Knocks You Down.”

Our guest today is Dr. John Davidson. He is the Director of Discovery and Development for the General Council of the Assemblies of God and the Director of the Alliance for Assemblies of God Higher Education.

Questions for Reflection.

  1. List the topics of Jesus’ teachings in the Sermon on the Mount that Dr. Davidson mentioned.
  2. Describe someone who is wise and someone who is foolish.
  3. Review the list of Jesus’ teachings and write next to each one what the opposite behavior or attitude would be.
  4. Explain the significance of “Well done, good and faithful servant” in Matthew 25:23.
  5. Review the list of Jesus’ teaching again. What will you do to apply each point to your life today?
