Day 51: Wait for God’s Justice

Author: Nancy A. Stevens

Today’s Scripture: Psalm 37:30-40

Central Thought: God does not allow unfair situations to go on indefinitely

Have you ever felt trapped in an intolerable situation? Perhaps your employer unfairly cut your working hours and gave them to someone else, or your boss repeatedly takes credit for the work you do. Maybe someone has spread rumors about you or falsely accused you; and you find yourself constantly on the defensive, struggling to clear your name.

When we read and meditate on God’s Word, He can give us words of wisdom and help us to act rightly in whatever situation we face. Rather than focusing on the unfairness of the situation and how helpless you feel, remember that God is with you. Meditate on how powerful and loving He is. He has promised to guard our way and keep us from slipping. When we turn to Him in times of trouble, we can find rest and refuge in His love.

He will not leave you in your present situation indefinitely. Wait for God’s justice and continue to do right. When God’s purposes are accomplished, He will move the offender off the scene or show you the way out.

Devotional Prayer: Father, when we feel trapped in an unfair situation, help us to continue to seek You and to allow You to work in that situation, knowing that You are faithful and just.
