Day 257: Drawing Water from the Wells of Salvation

Today’s Scripture: Isaiah 12:2-3

Central Thought: Because of the Cross, we have access to the waters of salvation.

Salvation is more than conversion. It is more than an entryway into the kingdom of God. It is a continuing source of blessing and refreshment. We can draw continuously from its life-giving source in every situation of life.

Salvation stems from what Jesus did on the Cross. The solution for every problem and provision for every need may be found in the Cross. Every sin was nailed to the Cross when the nails were drive through the Savior’s hands and feet. No wonder we sing, ‘In the cross, in the cross, be my glory ever!” We can lay every burden at the foot of the Cross.

The wells of salvation issue from the Cross to bring new strength into our lives day by day. They fill the hearts of God’s people with singing and gladness. Prayer and communion with God do not result from a boring discipline that we perform out of obligation. Rather, we anticipate the satisfaction of drawing living water from the wells of salvation.

Yes, we draw water from the wells of salvation, the unending supply of God’s grace and provision. Other wells may run dry, but not this one! It flows from a spring of the eternal, inexhaustible supply of God’s grace. Are you drawing from that source?

Devotional Prayer: Lord, give us joy in You today as we partake of the waters from the wells of salvation.
