Day 245: New Creatures in Christ Jesus

Author: Debbie Russell

Today’s Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:17

Central Thought: When we are born again, God makes us new.

When we come to God and accept Jesus as our Savior, we are born again. The Bible says old things are passed away and we become a new creature—a brand new being in Christ.

When we are born again, we sense newness on the inside, even though bad habits may linger. Those lingering reminders of the old creature point to our need to rely on the Lord to help us overcome obstacles as we commit our mind and body to Christ. Romans 12:1-2 tells us that after we are born again we must renew our minds with God’s Word and offer our bodies a living sacrifice to God. We do that by reading His Word often and obeying it and by laying down bad habits our flesh desires to hold onto.

Devotional Prayer: Father, I come to You in Jesus name to thank You today for the plan you had for my redemption and that in Jesus Christ I am a new person.

Today’s Bible Reading: Job 40:1-42:17; 2 Corinthians 5:11-21; Psalm 45:1-17; Proverbs 22:14
