Day 291: God Loves the Impossible

Author: Travis Busby

Today’s Scripture: Jeremiah 32:17 (NIV)

Central Thought: Nothing is too hard for the Lord.

‘Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.” When the situation is impossible, when we have lost all hope, when there seems to be no other way, the Word states nothing is too hard for God. Jeremiah speaks this when his nation is about to be overrun by the Babylonians. There is no way out. The people of God will see their city destroyed. Lives will be lost in battle and their king taken captive. Yet Jeremiah says that the Lord will bring them back to live in Jerusalem in peace.

Scratching our heads we may wonder how the Lord will bring the answer, the provision, the healing, or the salvation to our circumstance. Remember that God sees it all and He has the final word. Often He will allow the worst of circumstances in our lives, but it does not change that He will show His mighty arm. How would we know how mighty the arm the Lord is unless He demonstrates it during the worst of moments?

God brought a beautiful creation in the heavens and the earth out of nothing. No stars, planets, or life of any sort existed before the Lord spoke it into creation. Now let Him speak His creative power into your life. Let Him show His mighty arm in your situation. The God we serve, nothing is too hard for Him.

Devotional Prayer: Lord, I don’t know how You are going to bring the answer to my prayer, but I know You will. My confidence is in You and Your creative power. I believe there is nothing too hard for You and I will see the answer to my prayer.
