Day 305: Being Willing

Today’s Scripture: Ezekiel 1:1-3:15

Central Thought: God will use the willing where they are and give them what they need.

We think that people we see in our churches who are leading the way in doing God’s work have a special anointing that not everyone can have. In one way that is true. You cannot have God’s anointing or do His work without being willing. Most of us say ‘Lord, I am willing but…” and then it comes—all of the excuses why we are not worthy, not capable, or not ‘the” person for the job.

Ezekiel had such excuses that he could have used. God made it clear that Ezekiel’s job was to tell the children of Israel what God had said. He was not responsible for the outcome but the doing of God’s will. Ezekiel was warned not to look at the circumstances or to be swayed from completing his task by the reactions of the people of Israel. Then, in the clearest picture one could imagine, God told Ezekiel to eat the Word. To be filled with His Word.

Is it time for you to take on another task? Are you willing to declare what God has said, knowing some will not listen? Start by being willing to be filled with the Word.
