Day 151: Praying for Our Leaders
Author: Debbie RussellToday’s Scripture: Proverbs 16:10
Central Thought: God expects us to pray for our leaders that they will make good choices.
First Timothy 2:1-2 tells us to pray for kings and all who are in positions of authority over us that we may live a quiet and peaceable life. Those in authority need our prayers because they have a great responsibility. Whether it is a government official, employer, parent, or pastor—all those in authority need our prayer.
In fact, God has given us the responsibility of praying for those in positions of leadership and authority. If we pray from a sincere heart more than we complain, perhaps the impact of our prayers will make a difference in decisions that are made by those in authority.
Devotional Prayer: Father, I lift to You in the name of Jesus all those who are in authority. I ask that You surround them with good advisors to help them in every decision they make that they may wisely fulfill the responsibility given to them.
