Day 150: God’s Love Letter

Author: Debbie Russell

Today’s Scripture: Psalm 119:97

Central Thought: Meditation on God’s Word is very good for us.

The Psalmist says to God with a lot of expression: ‘Oh how I love your law! It is my meditation all the day.”

Meditation means to ponder something or think about it. We need to do more than just read the Bible. We need to take time to be quiet and just think about what is being said. We can think about how a specific passage may apply to our lives today. God is faithful to His Word!

I have heard it said that the Bible is God’s personal love letter to man. It is normal for a person who receives a love letter to take time to meditate on what the sender of the letter is saying. As we read God’s love letter, we can also rejoice in His love for us.

Devotional Prayer: Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus and ask for Your help to understand what You are saying to me through your Word. Give me wisdom that I may properly apply Your teachings in my daily life.

Today’s Bible Reading: 2 Samuel 14:1-15:22; John 18:1-24; Psalm 119:97-112; Proverbs 16:8-9
