Day 80: The Revealer of Truth

Author: Pastor Larry & Pat Downing

The Holy Spirit is amazing! As the revealer of all truth, He confirms God’s Word within our hearts. This third person of the Trinity who came to indwell us at Pentecost provides the counsel and direction we need to live well before the Father.

When truth is spoken, the Holy Spirit confirms it to you and in you. There is a distinct prompting and a release of life. You will feel a resounding “Yes, listen and receive this” inside of you. You will feel as though light and strength, truth and freedom are being poured out upon you. This will happen even if the message is one that brings correction. You will witness inwardly that it is true and the illumination will bring with it the power to embrace the cleansing, correction, or admonition. This can happen as you read the Word, worship, pray, hear a sermon, or speak with a close friend.

As we approach the celebration of Pentecost, I encourage you to be mindful of the power and presence of the Spirit who lives inside you. Let’s heed the whispers of His voice and embrace the truths He discloses in our hearts. Our churches will be full of truth when they are full of the Spirit. As the Church is empowered by the truth, we will extend the life of God to the nations!

What is the Holy Spirit saying to me?

ACTIVATION

• Listen for the Spirit’s voice in your heart. Write down what He tells you, and any specific instructions or Scriptures He gives.

• Listen throughout your day for the quiet promptings of the Holy Spirit. Make note of them instead of letting them pass by unheeded.

• At the end of the day, go back and pray through the things the Spirit told you and impressed upon you. Discuss them with Him and find out what else He wants to say.
