Day 76: Let His Spirit Fight For You

Author: Pastor Larry & Pat Downing

We live in a world driven by ideals, concepts, and beliefs that are totally contrary to the knowledge of God we receive from His Word. So as leaders, it is a common thing to hear questions from this generation that reveal their inability to handle the problems they face. A lot of this issue comes from Bible illiteracy, but it also highlights the lack of understanding of the Spirit’s role in making us victorious in every situation.

We are in a war, and the battlefield is the mind. The secular world is constantly engaging the minds of this generation, building strongholds of thinking that make it hard for us to penetrate their hearts. What can we do to serve this generation?

First, we must use our spiritual weapons and equip others to carry these weapons into their personal lives. We cannot war against this through our own carnal intellect. To even begin to show this generation how to have victory, we must give them the absolute truth of the Word, which is inspired by the Spirit.

Secondly, we must teach this generation how to be led by the Spirit, which empowers them into a life of obedience. We must show them how the Spirit can fight for them. If the enemy is fighting against the knowledge of God in their mind, then the Holy Spirit will fight for the knowledge of God in their mind.

Apart from the Holy Spirit, they have nothing with which to fight against the enemy’s attempts to develop strongholds in the mind. They need to know that God can personally walk them through every situation and lead them into victory every time.

What is the Holy Spirit saying to me?
