Day 50: God Will Provide

Author: Nancy A. Stevens

Today’s Scripture: Psalm 37:12-29

Central Thought: Though we go through times of adversity, God never forsakes us

Outward blessings are not proof that a person is living a God-pleasing life. Like the Psalmist, we can all point to prosperous and powerful evildoers who use their position to take advantage of others. We can become frustrated by the injustice of the situation when it is viewed through our limited vision. And we may feel as though God has forgotten us.

However, our Scripture reading says, ‘The Lord knows the days of the blameless” (verse 18). As believers we often face difficulties and challenges. But God is mindful of everything that impacts or concerns us. He does not leave us on our own to find our way out of the problem.

If we are struggling to make ends meet, or if we have more than enough, God loves us just the same. He has promised to provide for our needs. Sometimes He supplies in ways we would never expect: through the generosity of others, through opportunities for additional work, through an unexpected raise, through divine intervention.

Whatever the problem we face, God will guide and uphold us. If we are seeking Him for guidance and we take a wrong step and start to stumble, God will support us and help us get up again.

Devotional Prayer: Father, in our times of difficulty and confusion help us to keep our eyes on You and to remember that You will guide us and meet our needs.
