Faith Walk: Who God Made Us

Author: Dr. George Flattery

One of the drawbacks to social media is that it is easy to compare ourselves with others.

Every day we see posts that encourage us to look at what others have and what others have done which can lead us to envy and discontentment and rob us of our joy in life. It can even prompt us to impress others with our own posts. Paul said in Galatians 6:4, “Don’t compare yourself with others.” Let us remember that God created us to be who we are. He does not want us to be anybody else. God only makes originals. We will always find someone who has a better job than us, is better looking, makes more money or has more talent. Thomas Merton writes: “And so it takes heroic humility to be yourself and to be nobody but the man, or the artist, that God intended you to be.” Our joy lies in being who God has made us to be and keeping our eyes on Him.

Daily encouragements reminding us how to continually walk in faith. Taken from Dr. George Flattery's Facebook devotional series.
