Faith Walk: Forgive Freely

God calls us to forgive even when the person who hurt us does not ask for forgiveness.

We sometimes wait to forgive until the person runs up to us, falls on their knees and begs for forgiveness which is not going to happen. 9 times out of 10 the person who has hurt us does not think that they have done anything wrong at all! Forgiveness is not about taking away the personal responsibility of the person who has wounded us. It opens the door for God to step in and change their heart. Whether or not the person receives forgiveness or accepts it, we might never know. Our part is to forgive freely, without waiting to be asked. Forgiveness does not make the other person right; forgiveness sets us free.
