Faith Walk: Focus on our Identity
Author: Dr. George FlatteryWe cannot live a positive life with a negative mind.
Many times we can find ourselves thinking thoughts that are not grounded in reality. We can begin to question people’s motives or dwell on false accusations that are made against us. We can begin to think that people are saying or thinking things about us when they are not. Paul says in 2 Corinthians 10:5 that we are to “cast these thoughts down.” We are to immediately take our focus off of these negative, debilitating thoughts and focus on who we are in Christ and thinking thoughts there are pure and of good report (Philippians 4:8). We have a choice. Our mind has to listen to us. Managing our thought life leads to peace and happiness.
