Day 345: Be Humble

Author: Debbie Russell

Today’s Scripture: Revelation 3:20

Central Thought: Opening the door to God in all areas of our life requires humility.

Our Lord and Savior loves us more than we can imagine, but He does not force himself on us. He knocks at the door of our hearts, hoping we will open the door and let Him in. We should keep our hearts open to Him all the time.

The Bible tells us that God corrects us by His Word. He desires to help us in every area of our lives. Many times we allow Him to guide and direct us in some areas, but in other areas we leave Him standing outside the door. We do not desire Him to enter a particular place in our hearts, maybe because of fear or embarrassment. But He loves us and we can trust Him. We must humble ourselves—allowing Him to guide, direct, and discipline because He always has our best interest at heart.

Devotional Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to open every door of my heart to You. I humble myself before You and desire Your guidance and help in every part of my life.
