Daily Confessions: Right standing with God, Grace, and Faith
Author: Gil and Jane Burnett2 Corinthians 5:21 Amplified Bible (AMP)
21 He made Christ who knew no sin to [judicially] be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we would become the righteousness of God [that is, we would be made acceptable to Him and placed in a right relationship with Him by His gracious lovingkindness].
“I declare that God made Jesus, who was without sin, to take on my sin so that I would be made righteous, in right standing, acceptable to God. This was done because of God’s loving kindness to me. I am righteous in God’s eyes.”
Ephesians 2:8-9 Amplified Bible (AMP)
8 For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God; 9 not as a result of [your] works [nor your attempts to keep the Law], so that no one will [be able to] boast or take credit in any way [for his salvation].
“I confess that I am saved by God’s grace, His compassion for me. He drew me to Jesus Christ. My salvation is based on my faith in Him. It is not because of any good work that I have done. I am saved from being judged. I have eternal life through my faith in Jesus Christ. My gift of eternal life is from God.”
Galatians 2:20 New King James Version (NKJV)
20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
“I declare that my old sinful nature was crucified with Jesus. It does not live in me, but Jesus Christ lives in me. I now live by faith in Jesus, the Son of God. Jesus loves me and gave His life for me.”
2 Corinthians 5:7 Amplified Bible (AMP)
7 for we walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God’s promises]—
“I confess that I walk by faith in God’s promises not by what I see in the circumstances around me. I am confident that God’s promises are true.”
