Day 243: Our Deliverer

Author: Debbie Russell

Today’s Scripture: Psalm 44:3

Central Thought: God causes us to be victorious even in the face of persecution.

God promised the Israelites that He had given them the land of Canaan. He also told them to go and take the land, not an easy task. God made a promise, but the people had to believe and obey in order to claim the promise. In obedience to God, the Israelites fought for His promise, and God brought them through to victory. In battle after battle, God delivered the Israelites and fulfilled His promise to them.

God will do the same for us today. Promises in His Word apply to us personally. But just like the Israelites, we have an enemy, Satan, who is trying to keep us from the promises of God. Satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy; but when we trust and obey our Heavenly Father, He will deliver us from the hand of the enemy and bring us through to total victory.

Devotional Prayer: Father, I come before You in Jesus name, thanking You for all the great promises I find in Your Word. Help me to obey and trust You for total victory in every area of my life.

Today’s Bible Reading: Job 34: 1-36:33; 2 Corinthians 4:1-12; Psalm 44:1-8; Proverbs 22:10-12
