Day 233: Remember These Days

Author: Don Bailey

Today’s Scripture: Esther 9:23-28

Central Thought: We should remember God’s blessings in our lives.

Kelly dug through the cedar chest in the attic and found it—her mother’s journal. Her parents pioneered several churches over their 50 years of ministry, and they experienced many miracles. Kelly wanted to read about how God provided for them and how God used their ministry to touch many lives. She wanted to remember these glorious days of overcoming challenges with God’s provision.

In today’s reading, God brought a miraculous delivery to the nation of Israel from the hands of their enemies. As a result of this, the king commanded that the people not forget what happened. ‘These days should be remembered and observed in every generation by every family, and in every province and in every city” (Esther 9:28, NIV).

We need to remember the many ways God has met our needs as well. If we are honest, we can think of many blessings and many answers to prayer as we have served the Lord. These answers become a testimony we can use to tell others of our wonderful Lord. Taking time to remember God’s blessings will help to encourage us to trust Him to meet our present needs.

Devotional Prayer: Thank You, Lord, for all of the ways You have helped us in life.

Today’s Bible Reading: Esther 8:1-10:3; 1 Corinthians 12:27-13:13; Psalm 37:1-11; Proverbs 21:23-24
