Day 108: He Will Answer
Author: Gwen MillerToday’s Scripture: Psalm 86:7, 11
Central Thought: God will help us through the troubles we face.
During the eight years I was an elementary school teacher, I taught and gave out information. But only the student with a heart and mind set on learning actually mastered the material. That is a basic principle for gaining knowledge. We must apply ourselves and purpose in our minds and hearts to gain knowledge.
An undivided heart—a focused heart—is one that is in position to gain truth and wisdom from God’s Word. I especially like the passages in Psalm 86 (verses 7 and 11) that assure me that when I encounter a blockade in life and do not know what path to take, I can look to God for an answer. I can make these verses my prayer. We know we are praying in faith and praying the will of God if we pray Scripture. It’s a perfect prayer.
Aren’t you glad we don’t have to wonder if God wants us to know His will and His plan? The Word assures that when we call on God, He will answer us. We can go to our Heavenly Father in prayer knowing He wants to teach us His perfect way and guide us in His truth. We don’t have to beg and plead to get God to answer us. We can approach Him in faith as a dearly loved child of God, knowing He will answer.
Devotional Prayer: Dear Lord, I am so thankful for Your promise to answer when I call to You. Teach me Your way so that I don’t go my own path. I want to walk in Your truth.
