Faith Walk: Control Your Mind
Author: Dr. George FlatteryJohn Milton wrote, “The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a heaven or hell, a hell of heaven.”
What controls our mind controls our life. We are all shaped by our thoughts and become what we think. Many times we can find ourselves thinking thoughts that are not grounded in reality. We can begin to question people’s motives or begin to think that they are saying or thinking things about us when they are not. Let us not believe everything we think. Paul says in 2 Corinthians 10:5 that we are to “cast these thoughts down.” We are to immediately take our focus off of these negative, debilitating thoughts and focus on who we are in Christ and thinking thoughts there are pure and of good report (Philippians 4:8). We have a choice. Our mind has to listen to us. Managing our thought life leads to peace and happiness.
