Faith Walk: Loneliness
Author: Dr. George FlatteryLoneliness is one of the most miserable feelings we can have.
It is not the number of people around us that determines our loneliness; it is our relationship to them. We can feel lonely because of the transitions and stages of life. We can feel lonely because we are separated from those whom we love. We can feel lonely because we have been betrayed or rejected. We feel like no one cares. In the midst of our loneliness, let us remember that God understands and cares about our loneliness. God is always everywhere, and we can constantly talk with him and let Him speak to us. Perhaps we could pray, “Father, we would ask you to fill this ache, this void, this loneliness in our lives. Fill us with your presence and your peace on this day. Amen.”
