Love Again
Description
September 16, 2018
Bulletin Points:
1. Loving others starts with God
2. Loving others starts with me
Questions for Kingdom Group Discussion:
1. When was the last time someone got on your nerves? How did you respond? Was it in love? What would you have done differently?
2. Read together John 13:34. What did Jesus say? Why? Who was He speaking to?
3. Read Romans 15:7. How are we to treat each other? How? Why? What would that mean in our church?
4. From Romans 15:7, how has Christ accepted you? How does that play out in the way we are to love one another at church?
5. Read 1 Cor. 12:12-13, 21- 26. How are you placed and related at church? How are we to treat those who are weaker and less prominent in the eyes of the world?
6. On another occasion when Jesus was asked who is my neighbour, He told the story of the Good Samaritan. Read Luke 10:27-37. What is the unusualness in this story? What surprises you? Why did Jesus mention about the Levite and priest? And who is my neighbour in this story?
7. God’s concept of “neighbour” is broad, extending to the poor, the rejected, and the alien. The Pharisees tried to narrow the idea, limiting the command to those who were most like themselves. Jesus would not allow it then, and He will not allow it now. Who is your neighbour? Who are those currently in need that you are aware of? How have you treated them?
8. Write down names of people you know who are:
– Physically in need
– Emotionally in need
(Write an encouraging note to them)
– Spiritually in need of salvation
(If this need is not met, they will spend an eternity separated from God. That’s why it’s vital for you to share the gospel to them.)
9. What do you say about the person around you now, in this Kingdom group? Is it a fervent expression of love or something else? How can this group practice unconditional love for each other this week? What does that look like? Just think of how much more wonderful this life would be if all of us practice love!
